We are calling all crafters! Join us for the St. Paul Crafter’s Circle meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 6 p.m. Drop in and chat with other crafting enthusiasts while working on your knitting, crocheting, or other portable projects.

On June 8 at noon, celebrate Worldwide Knit in Public Day at the St. Paul Branch. Bring your knitting project, sun protection, and a lawn chair to celebrate with knitters worldwide. No registration is required for both events.

Explore therapeutic techniques with a registered psychotherapist while indulging in a mini craft at the Therapeutic Crafting program on June 19 at 2 p.m. at the main branch. Registration is required for this program.

Get ready for summer reading by creating a personalized reading journal. Beginning June 22, adults can pick up a summer reading journal take and make kit at both branches. Each kit contains a journal and supplies to create mandala designs and your motifs. Kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

The library’s Seniors@BPL Committee invites you to Seniors Day at the library on May 29 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the main branch. This special event features agencies, companies, and community organizations that serve seniors. Brantford Police Chief Rob Davis will also be on hand for a presentation. This is a great opportunity to learn about health services support available in the community and have some fun. No registration is necessary.

On Thursday afternoons in June and July at 1:30 p.m., the main branch library will host a series of programs to help seniors maximize their retirement benefits and financial well-being.

The Financial Wellness Series is part of the Healthy Aging Passport Program with the City of Brantford and is offered in collaboration with Service Canada and the Canada Revenue Agency.

Representatives from both agencies will speak about federal programs, credits, and services designed to support your finances, including navigating CPP/OAS survivor benefits, managing tax affairs effectively, and exploring senior benefits. All programs in this series are free, and no registration is required.

Stay tuned for summer programs for children in next week’s column!
